About

Good day, I would like to offer a short history of myself. I was born and raised in the French-Canadian mill city of Woonsocket, Rhode Island 62 years ago. Mom and dad were both raised Catholic and so all seven children were also raised in the faith. I attended Parochial school for three years before entering the public school system. I graduated from the local high school and entered Rhode Island College. Couldn’t keep my mind on education so after one year, entered the job market. I found a skilled labor position at a local manufacturing facility all the time dating my future wife, Susan. We dated for a few years and eventually were married in the Church in August of 1976 (that makes it 42 yrs). After three years, we discovered Susan was pregnant with our first child, my son Aaron. I then decided to return to night school to try for an Associate’s degree. In 1981, the second child came along, my daughter Sarah. We were the typical family attending church on a regular basis, involved in Scouting, children’s sports and family vacations. During one of our vacations, we discovered that Vermont was more than just tundra between Massachusetts and Montreal. We sold our house and moved up to Vermont in January of 1991.
We became active in the local parish and town events. My wife and I were CCD instructors for a while, I held various positions on the different parish committees and we both had various ministries over the years. Much of this occurred after we made a Cursillo in the fall of 1994. I also was the Lay Director for Cursillo for the State of Vermont. Since then, both children have grown and lead their own lives now. Both are married (neither of them in the church and neither child participate in the faith any longer) and my son Aaron and his wife has given us a grandson, Ethan. My son is a skilled labor in the machinist field and my daughter has a PHD and is a scientist with the firm Sanofi. The vocation that pays the bills for me is purchasing agent. I work for a manufacturer of very large industrial pumps and motors. I just completed a two year term as Grand Knight of the local Knights of Columbus council.
Interests include gardening, cooking and baking, genealogy study, traveling, beer and wine making and tasting, and repairing our 130 year old farmhouse. I dabbled in sports car racing a few years ago and still enjoying repairing cars. Computers, photography and artwork have followed me my entire life.
And I very much enjoy learning more about my faith so I can pass along what I have learned and to pique other people’s interest.
